Swipes
The swipe technique is definitely one of the most recognizable acrylic paint pouring techniques. This technique is identified by lacing and cells that are outlined by the color that was swiped. The swipe color is often mixed with a cell activator, like silicone oil or Australian floetrol, to promote cell creation.

You may have seen this piece in my straight pour section, as that is how this piece started. I also included it here as I did swipe down the center before stretching the design out by tilting the panel. Video is pending.

One of my earliest paintings and my first attempt at using the swipe technique. I love how it turned out! After I swiped, I tiled the panel to stretch the design out.

This piece was a lot of fun to create. I lined the colors out on the canvas then used black, mixed with a few drops of silicone oil, to swipe over the top of the colors. I then spun it on a turntable to stretch the design out.

Evolution of Blue (one of a 3 piece series) | This is a swipe down with silver as the swipe color. Iridescent and metallics make for the very best cell reactions in my experience and it did not let me down in this piece!
