Dutch Pours
A dutch pour is an acrylic pouring technique that uses air to manipulate the paints on a canvas. You can use a hair dryer, straw and lungs, or anything that blows air to make a dutch pour. Dutch pours are known for the ribbon like edges and cell lacing that can be achieved using the technique.
Many of these pieces have creation videos posted to my YouTube channel. I have linked the videos for each piece that has one. Click the image to be taken to the video.
Earth Tones #1 | The first in a 3 part mini series using earth tones. This has two canvas panels connected through the flow of paint - this is called a diptych.

This piece was created using a blow dryer as well as a turntable to spin out the design.

Trailing Elegance | A beautiful dutch pour on a split color base, created using a blow dryer. The metallic gold in this piece gives it an amazing shine!

This technique is known as a chaos dutch pour. I chose to split the design down the middle with a section of white. I then poured my colors on either end f the canvas in somewhat random patterns and blew the paint out with my blow dryer, being careful not to over work any one section.

The Space Between | This is a dutch pour created using a blow dryer to manipulate the paint.

I love the ghostly vibe this piece gives off and how well these colors work together. Easily one of my favorite dutch pours to date.
Color Frenzy | This is a combination funnel pour and dutch pour on a split color base. I began with the funnel, then used my blow dryer to manipulate the paint.
Cosmic Flare | Amazing pearl colors work beautifully with the dark blue base. I began this as a dutch pour which I then spun out using a kitchen turn table.

Poor Unfortunate Souls | Anyone else see the sea witch in this one? I love the feel of this dutch pour in blues. Another one created through the use of a blow dryer.

Phoenix Fire | This dutch pour makes me think of a Phoenix rising from the ashes to begin life anew. Created through the use of a blow dryer.
Tropical Wave | This piece was inspired by one of my favorite YouTube artists @Molly'sArtistry - check her out if you haven't yet! This was created using a blow dryer to manipulate the paint into the shape of an ocean wave.

This hexagonal piece was created using all pearl colors on a dark blue base. A blow dryer was used to manipulate the paint. Fun fact about pearl colors is they appear white when wet, so it's hard to know how the piece will turn out until you see the dried result!
Dancing Rainbow | Created in preparation for pride month! This dutch pour has just the right amount of color and flow1 Created using a blow dryer and my breath.

Spring Burst | This piece is a dutch pour that I spun out on a turntable. It really looks like a beautiful flower!
Spring Cascade | Gorgeous complimentary colors used in this piece to make it really stand out. Lots of shades of purples and pinks along with gold and creamy yellow work so well together in this dutch pour.

Who doesn't love these colors together? This dutch pour has a fun feel of bursting at both ends of the design. Accomplished using a blow dryer.
Cold Fire Rising | This dutch pour was made using a blow dryer to blow the paint out in an "S" shape. To me it looks almost like a bird in flight - what do you see?

Copper Dragon | This entire piece shines on a copper background and some glitter paint in what I would call the "wing sections". Accomplished using a blow dryer.

Just Beachy | You probably guessed that this piece was created to look like an ocean wave washing up on a sandy beach. Accomplished using a blow dryer.
A photo doesn't do this piece the justice it deserves. In the right lighting there are sections of glitter that shine through the dark blue base. This dutch pour is on a split color base and is accomplished using a blow dryer.
Mercy | I see a beautiful woman in the center with her arms up. This dutch pour was spun out on a turntable to get this awesome design.

Black Hole Sun | Dutch pour spun out on a turn table until I got the design I liked. Subtle, but fun.

One of my very early dutch pours. This reminds me of ocean water.

A wonderful triptych (3-piece set meant to be hung together) that has a glowing dutch pour connecting each piece.
Dutch Flower | This dutch pour was accomplished with my blow dryer and reminds me of a white sunflower.

Evolution of Blue (1 of a 3 piece series) | This piece uses all metallic colors on a dark grey base and created using a blow dryer. This piece really shines in the light.

Release | Created following the passing of my beloved aunt, this piece is a tribute beautiful life and to her being free of suffering any ailments.
